How is pace different from speed?
Pace is the time needed to cover a distance. A smaller minutes-per-kilometre number means faster running. Speed measures distance per hour, so a larger number means faster running.
How many kilometres are in a mile?
One international mile is exactly 1.609344 kilometres. This converter uses that value, then rounds displayed pace to the nearest second.
